Cooper Potter & Partners was established by a team of sustainability professionals with extensive combined experience in renewable energy development, carbon assessment, energy management and smart technology deployment.
We exist to facilitate the rapid transition towards a global net zero economy, powered by clean and affordable energy. We pursue this mission through five core service areas, combining rigorous technical consultancy with hands-on project development internationally.
Our team brings together expertise spanning solar PV and BESS project development, built environment energy management, and strategic net zero advisory. We work with developers, local authorities, manufacturers and investors to deliver practical, commercially grounded sustainability solutions.

Our team not only advises on solar PV and BESS projects but develops and manages them — from site identification through planning, grid connection and asset sale. John Cooper
Development LeadJohn specialises in solar PV and BESS project development, managing the full lifecycle from site identification and landowner liaison through planning consent, grid connection and spade-ready asset sale. He has extensive experience with DNO connection processes across all regions and has spoken at major industry events on Gate 2 grid connection processes.
Harvey Potter
Engineering LeadHarvey is a highly experienced electrical engineer specialising in grid connections and renewable energy deployment. His background includes commissioning EHV transmission substations at 132kV to 400kV with Siemens, followed by extensive G99 application experience for multi-megawatt solar PV and BESS projects. Harvey leads pre-application meetings with Transmission Owners, conducts UAV topographical surveys of large solar sites, and delivers G99 training to industry professionals. He maintains the company quality management certification.
Energy Efficiency Lead
Principal Engineer — Energy & Built EnvironmentOur energy efficiency principal lead specialises in energy audits, technoeconomic feasibility studies and decarbonisation strategies for industrial, commercial and public sector clients. With extensive experience across energy efficiency, renewables and smart technology programmes, this team member leads our microgrid design work for local authorities and developers.
